Tones and characters are the two walls most learners hit. The course trains the four tones on Day 1 with minimal pairs (mā, má, mǎ, mà), shows every word in pinyin with tone marks, and adds stroke-order practice for characters.
How the 365-day Chinese (Mandarin) path works
The course takes you from your first greetings (HSK 1) up to HSK 6 preparation. Progress is measured against HSK (2021 standard), with a mock exam before each level.

Chinese (Mandarin) course questions
- Do I need to know any Chinese before starting?
- No. Day 1 starts with sounds and tones. If you already know some, the free placement test starts you at the right day.
- Does the course teach characters or only pinyin?
- Both. Words are shown in characters with pinyin, and character practice includes stroke order.
- Which HSK level will I reach?
- The path covers HSK 1 to HSK 6 material. A diligent learner can expect a solid HSK 4 and a strong HSK 5. We do not promise the near-native HSK 7–9 band in a year.
- Is Chinese explained in my language?
- Chinese lessons are taught in English. If you want explanations in Mongolian, Chinese, Spanish or French, learn English with us first.
